On Monday, March 9, 2026, the event entitled “The Echo of the Gods in Today’s Woman” was successfully held on Monday, March 9, 2026, in the “Dione” hall, as part of the activities of the Municipality of Arta and the Women’s Counseling Center for International Women’s Day.

IEEE SB UOI | Arta and Epirus XR Center actively participated in the event, contributing with activities that linked technology, culture, and contemporary social reflection on the role of women.

IEEE SB UOI | Arta, in collaboration with IEEE SB UniWA, participated with a special speech by Diamanti Thomais, Associate of the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Ioannina in Arta and Head of Outreach at Ogilvy.
The talk highlighted the timeless connection between the characteristics of ancient Greek deities and modern women, approaching the topic through the lens of communication, social development, and modern female identity.

At the same time, the Epirus XR Center presented an impressive video using extended reality (XR) technologies, which used modern audiovisual media to highlight the symbolic connection between the ancient goddess and the woman of today, creating a unique experience for the audience.

The participation of the two organizations highlighted the potential of technology and the scientific community to contribute significantly to the public dialogue on equality and the role of women in contemporary society.
