The Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed Reality Center of the Region of Epirus (EpirusXRCenter) of the Human-Computer Interaction Laboratory (HCILAB) was delighted to welcome the first school visit for the new school and academic year 2025-2026, from the 1st EPAL Ioannina.
The students had the opportunity to learn about modern Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR) technologies through an interactive presentation that highlighted EpirusXRCenter activities, projects, and contributions.
The visit began with a briefing in the impressive CAVE space – EpirusXRCenter "virtual reality cell" – where students watched a modern audiovisual presentation on the applications of immersive technologies in education, research, and industry.
The students then moved on to the practical part of the experience, trying out impressive Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed Reality applications
They had the opportunity to interact with eye trackers and participate in "eye races," as well as experience a realistic simulation in the EpirusXRCenter driving simulator.
The visit ended with a lively discussion and questions from the students, who showed particular interest in the technologies, innovative applications, and equipment of EpirusXRCenter.
EpirusXRCenter continues to support the dissemination of technological education and offer unique learning experiences to pupils and students, strengthening the link between knowledge and innovation.
