Successful Completion of the 1st iSAVELives HandsON in collaboration with KIDSSAVELIVES and EPIRUSXRCENTER....from THEORY to ACTION!
On Wednesday, March 13, 2024, the Center for Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality of Epirus Region (EpirusXRCenter), of the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications – University of Ioannina, hosted the iSAVELives HandsON, a collaborative event with KIDSSAVELIVES. The event was a unique opportunity for participants to become familiar with Basic Life Support, using new and modern technologies developed at EpirusXRCenter.
HandsON was a dynamic experience, including five main training stations:
Victim assessment station, activation of 112 | 166, CPR on a victim of cardiac arrest: Participants were trained in emergency and cardiac arrest incident assessment initiatives.
CPR station and safe use of the Automatic External Defibrillator: Participants were familiarized with the use and effective operation of the Automatic External Defibrillator.
The use and operation of the Automatic Automatic Victim Assistance Station and the effective and efficient use of the Automatic Victim Assistance System: Training in the management of injuries and emergencies involving anesthesia and drowning.
Innovative CPR (QCPR) station: a platform where participants could test their skills in CPR.
New technologies station: Presentation and training on the use of new technologies such as virtual reality in CPR, the iSAVElives app, the AED map and guided CPR.
Participants had the opportunity to practice in real-life scenarios and expand their knowledge of current emergency response practices. The KIDSSAVELIVES trainers and the members of the EpirusXRCenter express their gratitude to the participants and their partners for the successful conduct of the practical training seminar.
The Vice Mayor of Social Care – Volunteerism – Social Structures & KIDAP / KIDAP-MED Ms. Tsola Angela and the Scientific Officer of EpirusXRCenter Mr. Glavas Euripides who gave the message of the value of First Aid and the synergy of New Technologies in this sector.
